When deciding to open their firm, JoEllyn and Micky wanted to hire people who were passionate about criminal justice reform as well as serve as an example to other businesses that people should be given second chances. We have a robust internship program and are partners with Rowan University's Law and Justice Department as well as the Drexel University Kline Law Co-Op Program. Davion graduated from Buena Regional High School in 2018. In 2019, Davion was a client of Micky's at the Public Defender's Office. After finding out that JoEllyn and Micky had started a law firm, Davion reached out and was invited in for an interview. Since coming onboard, Davion has shown exponential growth. He handles all aspects of client service, administration and office management. He is also starting to take on paralegal responsibilities. Davion is a shining example of not being judged by one's worst moment.
Kaylee King is a senior at Rowan University in Glassboro, NJ where she is majoring in Law and Justice Studies and minoring in Sociology. Her interest in law developed in high school when she had the joined the debate club and had an opportunity to try a case in front the Ocean County Judicial Courts. She has been hooked on law from that experience! She completed her internship with Jones & Ortiz P.A. and will now be their Legal Assistant. Upon graduating Rowan University, she will be attending law school. When Kaylee is not working at the law firm, she holds an executive board position with her Sorority Theta Phi Alpha and is also employed by Rowan University's Welcome Center. She also volunteers her time with her local community organization "Toy Run Foundation." Kaylee has a passion for her community and family and strives to make an impact on the world around her.
DJ graduated from Washington Township High School in 2016. He then completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University Camden, majoring in Marketing. He worked as an Assistant Store Director at Acme being promoted to Store Director of the South Street Acme in Philadelphia. DJ handles all marketing of Jones & Ortiz including advertisements and search engine optimization.
Arjai graduated from Cumberland Regional High school in 2023. She was awarded a full scholarship to the Clara I. Adams Honors College at Morgan State University where she majors in Strategic Communications. Arjai has managed all social media platforms of Jones & Ortiz, ensuring our message of "Lawyers with a Passion for Justice" reaches as far as it can. Arjai will continue in her role virtually as she embarks on her undergraduate journey.
